ROSEBAY RIDGE Sales Agreement and Terms (Kid Pricing explanation Click HERE)
IMPORTANT: By placing a deposit or purchasing an animal from Rosebay Ridge Farm (Kaeryn Silvera), you indicate acceptance of this agreement and terms. If you have ANY questions or concerns, or wish to negotiate a separate agreement, please contact me in writing via email or Messen).
If you purchase any goat, I offer an additional discount on each additional goat purchased at the same time. Registered 4-H or FFA members will be given a $50 discount per intact goat (written proof of performance programs or 4-H membership required at the time of sale).
Registration:
Rosebay Ridge dairy goats are all registered with the American Dairy Goat Association (ADGA). They are also eligible to be registered within AGS, if you should wish to do so. All registered animals will be transferred into the new owner's name at our expense, within ADGA. Please ensure that you provide the exact name (and ADGA ID if applicable) at time of sale. Exception: goats sold as pets will not (and cannot) be registered, but can be provided with a filled application for permanent ID through ADGA..
Guarantees:
Animals are sold as is, with no guarantee of future health, production, size, or quality. I've made our best effort to base my breeding program on quality foundation stock, selected for qualities of conformation and production, but gene combinations alone are not always accurate predictors of an animal's final qualities.
Once an animal leaves my property, I cannot be responsible for its health, under any circumstances. I'm happy to have my veterinarian at Kittanning Veterinary Hospital perform any on-site examination or tests you wish (at your expense) before the animal is picked up.
Exception: Should a doe or buck be found to have a hidden or overlooked congenital defect (as verified in writing by a licensed veterinarian), I will replace the animal with one that I feel is of equal quality, as soon is as feasible. Young stock found to be infertile will likewise be replaced. However, does and bucks that have previously produced offspring are considered proven fertile at time of sale.

BREEDING RESERVATIONS For GOATS:
- I accept reservations, but I retain the right to keep any animal if I decide it is the most appropriate animal with which to further my breeding program, or if I deem it unfit for the purpose it is bring purchased.
- A deposit of $200 for an intact goat or HALF of sale price for a wether will secure a kid from a given litter. NO REFUNDS will be given of deposit, except in the rare event of accident or injury to the kid..
- I DO NOT GUARANTEE COAT OR EYE COLOR OR MOONSPOTS. If you are seeking a kid based on these qualifications, please don't try to reserve a kid. Wait and see what is available after the reservations have been taken care of.
- A DEPOSIT WILL HOLD your kid purchase for 6 weeks after a kid is born. Following that term, your deposit is forfeit unless final payment is arranged under terms acceptable to buyer and seller and before the kid leaves the farm. After 12 weeks age for bucks, 14 weeks for does, we will apply a $2 per day fee for feed costs, per kid.
- If you pick up your intact buck kid by 3 weeks of age on bottle, there is a $50 discount for doing so. Buck kid must be deemed ready to travel at that time.
- I do make and keep a list of planned pairings, but I reserve the right to change the sire assigned to any given doe. Sometimes, the goats make the pairing decisions themselves!
PAYMENT FOR PURCHASES:
Payment for any goat purchase must be in full before the animal leaves my care.
Terms:
- Reserved goat kids can be picked up between 3 weeks (if bottle fed) and 12 weeks, when weaned and ready for home. If you have experience raising goats or sheep, you may take a kid home on bottle at 3 weeks or later. If you are a first time goat owner, bottle kids may be picked up as soon as 6 weeks (in pairs, please).
- Horn buds can be left on any non-polled female kid IF and only IF the kid is Paid In Full within 72 hours of birth pictures.
- I ONLY sell Buck kids out of does who have received an "V" or "E"in Mammary on Linear Appraisal, or who I have a very strong opinion of quality genetics based on immediate forebears' performance, Including PTA & ETA, at this time. These does will most always have a milk star and AR, so the bucks can be eligible for a *B. An exception would be if the sire of the kid has immediate female relatives who have proven themselves in these two categories.
- As of 2020, I'm leaving doe kids on dams and dual dam/bottle raising if requested with a deposit, which I feel keeps the doe kids healthier. Buck kids can be pulled from their dam and raised on bottle AFTER a deposit is received provided they're picked up NO LATER than 12 weeks of age AND there are 2 males going as a pair. Any reserved kid can be left on a dam or pulled off on request, unless we feel it's greatly impacting the production or udder shape of the doe, or the doe has udder or health issues at the time. **MY KIDS ARE ABSOLUTELY ALWAYS FRIENDLY** whether raised by dams or me.
- Older kids and adults may be reserved with a $200 deposit. After 2 weeks, if the goat is not picked up or delivered, a $10/week fee for ongoing feed expenses will be applied until the animal is picked up.

Kaeryn Silvera
We are committed to producing quality animals with strong milking genetics, who have good temperaments, are well-socialized and dam or bottle raised, as we think is best. We test our whole herd yearly for CAE, CL, Johnes and Brucellosis. ADGA registerable kids, and some registerable with AGS as well. This year, all our senior does have participated in DHIR (milk test) . This is our second year of Linear Appraisal as well. We are working on getting all of our bucks' DNA on file.
